WHAT HALLOWEEN MEANS?
Halloween means ''All hallow's eve'', it's the day before all the saints, the 31st of October. However, the English custom has robbed its religious sense to celebrate in his place the terror's night, the witches and ghosts.
HALLOWEEN'S ORIGINS
It was celebrated 3000 years before by the Celts. They were a warrior village, and they lived in Ireland, England, Scotland and France.
The 31st of October, Celt people celebrated the en of the year with the Samhain, a pagan holiday.
The European immigration, especially English and Catholic people went to the United States and the tradition arrived to the American continent.
When we talk of Halloween, we think in costumes, pumpkins, parties, sweets and children, but the tradition show that this celebration wasn't always festive and happy and the rites that were practised at night had a character purifier and religious.
